We want to make this application perfect, but we are quite sure there is a long way to go.
There definitely are many bugs and missing features we do not know about.
The most important known issues are these:
-
Editor is not fullscreen mode because of android bug
-
Scrolling can be sometimes a bit unpredictable, especially in editing mode
-
When opening a large file it is displayed without highlighting immediately,
the highlighting is done in the background and displayed progressively
-
Currently Java files (.java) have the best support, other programming languages are in works
-
Internal parser may fail to properly parse some complex or ill formed Java files resulting in code suggestions failing to show class members and variables for the current file.
-
Editor may stop responding for a few seconds while it is loading, highlighting and parsing the file. Please be patient, we are working to make everything more efficient.
-
Newly added or edited class members and variables are not shown in code suggestions until the file is saved.
-
When editing text near (within 1 line) multi line comments they can get partly unhighlighted.
-
Handling screen rotation and resizing (e.g. when showing keyboard) can be slow - particularly on large files (e.g. larger than 70kB).
-
First highlighting can take longer when you switch to new language. The reason is only one parser fits at one time to app memory so we have to recreate them when you switch.
-
Highlighting can unhighlight some tokens (e.g. first end of script tag or last JavaScript keywords) near the end of JavaScript <script> tag in HTML.

Fixed in version 0.9.5
Important - Samsung Galaxy S and large files: we have found an issue in Samsung Galaxy S phone - when opening large files the text gets cut at around 10kB (thanks to Dave - one of our users for helping to diagnose the problem).
The issue seems to be Galaxy S specific (all works fine in emulator). Sorry for the inconvenience with larger files. If you encounter this issue on other phone models please let us know at info@touchqode.com. We are investigating the cause and we hope to resolve it soon.
